When it comes to Boiler Repairs Camden, Ashton Heating and Plumbing (AHP) have been working on this for over ten years. During this time we have worked with a lot of customers in the local Camden area, dealing with a number of issues. Here are a few things you need to be aware of when it comes to boiler repair issues.
A good way to avoid expensive repairs is to deal with issues before they become more serious. In order to avoid this, the best way is to get your boiler serviced once a year. A qualified Gas Safe technician (such as AHP) will be able to look over your current unit and make recommendations based on their inspection.
Once you have their recommendations, it is worth getting a technician in to deal with any minor repair problems as soon as possible. There are a few reasons for this.
The first is that often the minor issues are making a boiler run slower and less efficiently. This then means the boiler takes longer to heat up rooms and hot water, so you end up with larger bills for an inferior heating supply.
Another reason is that if you ignore repair problems in the short term then there is a very real possibility that the issues will become worse later on and you could end up with a larger repair bill or needing to replace a boiler that could have been prevented if you took earlier action.
If you are experience lower water pressure in your home, it may be due to a water leak. Damp patches around your home can be a sign of this. Another possibility is if you bled your radiators recently as the lower pressure there is caused by releasing air.
It is possible to adjust water pressure yourself (typically this will be between 1 to 2 bar) as well as bleeding radiators. However given you are dealing with hot water if you are not feeling confident you may want to consider bringing a certified AHP technician in.
People typically use boiler rooms as makeshift airing cupboards to dry out towels and so forth. While this is understandable it is important to be careful. Boiler systems require ventilation. Therefore if your boiler is not working as efficiently as possible you may want to check if something as simple as clearing out towels and storage items from the boiler room could help make the boiler run more efficiently.

It is also worth checking the lagging on your system’s pipes. Ideally it should not be damaged and should provide cover over the pipes. If pipes are not properly insulated then there is the danger that your pipes could freeze and your boiler is at risk of breaking down.
If you need new insulation then it is worth talking to a repair technician to get this fixed, both in terms of improving the efficiency of your boiler and ensuring that is running as safely as possible.
You should check your system at least once a month. By turning on the heating (even when you don’t need it) you can test that it is working properly and if not it may be time to get someone in to repair it. It is better to deal with an issue before it is urgent, both in terms of avoiding an emergency and a larger repair bill later on.
In between annual boiler servicing, there are signs you can spot that there may be issues with how your boiler is running. If you can hear dripping coming from the pipes, your pilot light keeps going out as well as whistling or banging noises then these could all be signs that there are issues with your heating system. Another potential sign is if the system switches itself off.
If these things keep happening then it is recommended you contact an AHP technician so they can address these issues.
The best time to contact a Boiler Repairs Camden technician is as soon as you are aware of a problem. This means that you can deal with a problem before it becomes too urgent.
